Cunard Learning Centre

Adult Learning Program

The Cunard Learning Centre offers a free Adult Learning Program (ALP) that is possible through our partnership with Nova Scotia’s department of Labour Skills and Immigration. We help participants understand and earn Levels I, II, and III of Nova Scotia’s adult learning curriculum. We do an intake assessment on reading, writing and math to determine the best starting point for participants. After completing the three levels, participants can choose to complete Level IV at the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC).

Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC)

The Cunard Learning Centre also offers free CAEC preparation courses in the evenings. The new CAEC provides a high-quality, made-in-Canada education credential that meets industry standards, and is the replacement for the General Educational Development (GED). Like the GED, the CAEC is for Canadian adults who do not have a high school diploma but need an education credential to open new doors to educational or employment opportunities.
